Reversal: A change in the direction of price.
A reversal means that the direction of the trend has completely reversed from the previous direction. A reversal is an about face in direction, a completely different direction than the previous direction. Change and reversed are not synonymous.
A reversal is when the direction changes completely from the direction it is going. Change is not always a reversal and change does not mean ‘reversal’.
The proper use of an indicator is to know that divergence means change and not a reversal. Divergence indicates a change of price action and possibly an adjustment to your strategy.
Trends have three directions – up, down, sideways. And from sideways, the trend can reverse to a new direction, or continue the previous direction.
